I think it’s really important that we all have a mental tool that allows us to put feelings away.

My self-optimization was becoming a paradox—with each bit of mental space I cleared, I took on more work to fill it. Everything swirled around in my mind without boundaries: work thoughts, activism thoughts, and personal project thoughts all mixed together. Recently though, I've been exploring ways to find mindfulness even during busy days.

Two weeks ago, I started EMDR therapy and learned about the "container" exercise. This inspired me to create my own version to cut through mental noise at will. And it works! It's like a decluttering ritual for my brain. I've reclaimed my focus and can take small steps forward, while still holding space for the fears and emotions that many of us are feeling right now.

I wrote step by step instructions on how you can build your own container algorithm here.

As someone who has navigated OCD, broken into tech, and learned to trust my inner truth over society's expectations, I understand the power of having the right mental tools. I'm not sharing this to sell anything—I simply want everyone to sit with their journal and build themselves up from within.

If you try this exercise, I'd love to hear about your experience. Reply to this email and let me know how it goes for you.
